Concerns of Police Survivors — Rebuilding Shattered Lives

Thank You Participants! 13th Annual Arizona Fallen Officer Memorial 5k

The 13th Annual Arizona Fallen Officer Memorial 5k took place Sunday March 5th, 2017 with over 830 participants! The fundraiser benefited Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), Arizona Chapter and the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial Board Charity, Inc. All proceeds from the run/walk will help rebuild the lives of fallen officer’s families and co-workers and aid in the upkeep of the Arizona state police memorial.

Many teams had been coordinated from all over the state to participate. The largest team award went to Team Skip Fink - their second year in a row winning!

The event remembered all Arizona fallen officers, including the five Arizona officers killed in 2016:

Officer MICHAEL HADDAD – E.O.W. March 16, 2016 * Hayden Police Department

Officer DAVID GLASSER – E.O.W. May 19, 2016 * Phoenix Police Department

Border Patrol Agent MANUEL ALVAREZ – E.O.W.  August 11, 2016 * U.S. Border Patrol

Officer LEANDER FRANK – E.O.W.  August 30, 2016 * Navajo Division of Public Safety

Officer DARRIN REED – E.O.W.  November 8, 2016 * Show Low Police Department

On behalf of both charities, thanks again to all the participants and sponsors. The fundraiser and donations help our organizations continue the work we do to honor Arizona fallen officers and support their survivors.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Mark your calendars for March 4, 2018!
